The first is history. In the 23 years since the European Cup has rebranded and reformatted into the Champions League, no team has ever successfully defended the cup. Not even with the great Pep Guardiola, who won two trophies in three years, could Barca do it. As it turns out, it is really hard to defend the title when you have to face the best of the best every year.
And as if repeating the success is not hard enough, Barca has this year a second major hurdle to overcome- their current transfer ban. Because of Barca’s breach of FIFA’s rules regarding the transfer of players under the age of 18, the Spanish champs are barred from signing any new players until January 2016. That can put them at a big disadvantage during the summer, the time when the big stars usually move. Barca’s inactivity opens the door for their main rivals – Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, etc. – to get stronger and catch up with the Catalans.
Fortunately Barca’s current squad looked ahead and there is still a chance to be better than the competition this year, thanks in large part to the three-headed monster, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar. But the big question is: Having these three together, is it enough to make Barca the best one once again? We don’t think so. We believe that this year’s winner will be Real Madrid. As for Real Madrid, the defense of the team is better than ever, so maybe with luck they have a chance to make the double. When Ronaldo learns that winning trophies with the team is the most important thing and this is what makes you the best, then Real Madrid will manage it to win it. After all being analyzed we advise you this year to put your money on Real Madrid because of their special connection with the Uefa Champions League. If their is to be a team who to win the trophy back to back then it has to be Real.
